THE FINAT LOG
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE FINAT
CALENDAR 2014-2015
Since our last yearbook a lot has happened. This log gives you a chronological summary of activities the association has undertaken for the common interest of its members during the past 12 months, starting from where we left off in the previous edition.
MAY 2015
15-16 May: FINAT Past President Andrea Vimercati addresses the members of the Italian label association GIPEA on the occasion of their 25th anniversary, held in Modena.
19 May: a panel of international recycling experts judges the entries for the 1st FINAT Recycling Award. The jury was delighted by both the quality and the quantity of the
entries, especially for the first edition of the competition. The 11 entries reflected a total of well over 1000 tonnes of recycled film and paper liner, as well as a significant amount of recycled matrix and other secondary material. This clearly demonstrates that the industry is stepping up to the challenge to recover these valuable materials. The awards ceremony was held on Friday, 6 June on the occasion of the FINAT congress in Monaco. (See also page 52)
22-24 May: FINAT Vice- President Thomas Hagmaier attends the VskE meeting in Kiel, Germany.
22-25 May: FINAT President Kurt Walker visits the ANFEC congress in Malaga, Spain.
27 May: FINAT’s Young Managers Club presents ‘Great CRM, how to master
Gilbert Hödl
Series. FINAT YMC members had the first opportunity to collaborate digitally in the form of a webinar. Gilbert Hödl, founder of update.com and Jakob Kiblbock, sales manager at CISCO presented their CRM experiences to the audience.
Main points covered in the presentation were the nature of CRM systems and customer focused thinking, elements of motivation to entertain a CRM project, goal setting and how to get it done in an efficient way. The audience supported a lively discussion and the most important questions arose around motivation within the salesforce, KPI´s to measure success, and how to get started.
JUNE 2014
FINAT RADAR
2 June: the 1st edition of the FINAT RADAR is released. This half-yearly benchmark, exclusively for FINAT members, defines trends in the European label and narrow web market. The survey, commissioned to market research agency LPC, provides members with a
convenient and up to date ‘radar screen’ to monitor trends and developments relevant to the European label and narrow web business. Each edition of the report will carry the results of a number of parallel surveys covering different segments of our industry’s value chain. (See also page 42)
5 June: The Labelexpo Advisory board meets in Monaco, prior to the FINAT congress.
5-7 June: The FINAT Congress, the battle for shelf appeal is held in Monaco. See page 18 for short report.
