• TheMembership Committee
under the Chairmanship of
Thomas Hagmaier has held regular conference calls. The purpose
of the committee is to revitalize and activate the FINAT
membership. Each committee member has been asked to bring in
5 newmembers.
• The YoungManagers Club
looks back on a successful global
event in Berlin last November and is developing a programme for
a European summit in Warsaw this November. The next global
event will be held in the USA in 2014. At the General Assembly in
June the new YMC Board composition will be announced.
• The FINAT Board
dedicated most of its meeting to defining the
association’s strategy for the coming 3-5 years. This session
focused on issues like scope of our association, target groups,
value proposition, member development and engagement as well
as the effectiveness of the present FINAT volunteer structure.
Discussions are on-going and the strategic planning cycle will be
concluded this autumn.
18-21 March:
the jury judged the entries of the FINAT label
competition. See page 68 for a full report.
26March:

APRIL
2013
13 April:
closing date for entries for the International Beer Awards,
for which FINAT President Kurt Walker was asked to judge. The
International Beer Awards are the Oscars of the brewing industry,
acknowledging the very best beer and beer brand styles. The six
categories recognise that it is not simply the contents that create a
successful product, but also the advertising strategies adopted
involving labelling, packaging, advertising campaigns and the
environmental sustainability commitment of an organization.
19 April:
National Association Board meets in Amsterdam for its
half-yearly gathering. See also the interview on page 24 which was
held on the occasion of this meeting.
23 April:
