A clean, neat label printed using solvent
flexo in one colour. The type is sharp and
legible and creates a very good contrast
against the metalised, laminated film
base. The use of a solid state laser for
cutting purposes ensures accuracy at
reasonably fast production speeds.

Schreiner Group GmbH & Co. KG.,

The main judging criteria for this class is
the demonstration of a new application
or a new technology using the label
technology. Again the Schreiner Group
scores highly with a clever cost saving
application for the electronic industry.
The application reduces the number of
steps required to produce a protective
membrane for electronic control units
from five to three. The membrane allows
air into the control unit but prevents
water or dust from entering. The name
plate is produced in a single pass on a
narrow web press on a film base.

Marzek Group, Austria
A striking looking label making good use
of the contrats between the black
background and gold hot foiling. The
addition of the name and logo in white
adds to its appeal. Printed using UV
offset printing technology in three
colours. A slight tactile pattern in the
background gives the label an extra lift.
The L9 World Label Awards competition pits the best from each of the participating associations against each
other in 22 well defined categories. In order to be considered the labels must have won an award in their domes-
tic competitions during the previous year. The judging panel (selected from the associations submitting entries)
for the 22nd competition met just before LabelExpo USA in Chicago in September 2012. FINAT is delighted to
honour the following award and honourable mention winners.
