LITHOGRAPHY
Collotype Labels, Australia for The
Convict
An extremely busy
looking label with masses
of detail and a scary
illustration reminiscent
of a mythological scene
for a ghost story. The
small type which is well
printed says it all. Escape
from the chains. Printed
using offset litho the
complex illustration is
sharp and the detail is
excellent. I guess this
would be well received in
Australia, it certainly grabs the attention.

DIGITAL
PRINTING
Omnipack AG, Switzerland for Vepool
Glas Kristall Edelstahl
The background
of this label is
cleverly covered
with halftone
images printed to
look like crystals.
The open
windows suggest
fresh air. The
whole label is
printed on a silver
PP substrate to
give it an additional sparkle. The
illustrations are nicely printed and the
contrasting red and blue type balance
well.

COMBINATION
PRINTING
Rotakett AB, Sweden for Astrakan Guld
äppelcider halvtorr (Kiviks Musteri)
A nice, understated label with a smooth
light coloured background with white
screen printed type, gold leaves and gold
type in the centre. The black logo with
the red apple contrasts with the
background nicely. Flexo and screen
printing have been used in
combination to produce
this label. The matt varnish
gives the end result a
smooth look and feel. The
screen printed type is well
done and is easily readable.

A great combination of flexo and gravure
techniques. Good use is made of the
contrast between the different colours
on the label. A nicely printed job

A really well
printed flexo
label. The
white, small,
reversed out
type is
excellent and
totally legible
down to the
smallest full
stop. The label
is printed on a
metallised film
which adds to the brightness of the red
background and also gives more depth
to the illustration of the woman’s head.
The addition of the illustration of the
container for the product is an
interesting idea.

CARTONS
PragatiPack (India) Pvt. Ltd.,
India for Fiama Di Wills
An interesting combination of flexo and
gravure was used for this carton. The
gravure was used to print the blue
background as it gives better colour
consistency compared to offset. The
saturated green, blue and orange solid
colours give the job an identity and the
metallic gravure ink adds class to the
carton. The reversed out type is very
clear and legible and the product brand
is easily identifiable.

SLEEVES
Collotype Labels, Chile for Havana Club
Añejo Reserva
A bold, bright and busy looking label
printed using flexography on a PET base.
Although the images look to be solid
they are, in fact, modified by the use of
halftone overlays with the odd pocket of
4 colour halftone areas. The only two
solid colours are the black and white
images. The whole label has a southern
American festival feel about it.
