Evolution or Extinction?’
FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS
Following the last two highly successful Seminars in 2008 & 2010, which each attracted close to 200 attendees, FINAT will return to Barcelona in 2012 for the next Technical Seminar.
The one and a half day seminar (in English with simultaneous translation in Spanish) is designed to give an update on issues relating to legislation, materials science, converting technology and application requirements and is targeted at all levels of the technical community from R&D or production to technical directors & executives. These topics will all be presented by expert speakers, who aim to offer delegates input which can be used in their own companies to create more efficient and profitable future business.
For 2012 and the theme of “SELF-ADHESIVE LABELS AND THEIR FUTURE VS ALTERNATIVE TECHNOLOGIES” we are looking for papers covering the entire supply chain:
• raw materials/substrates
• label manufacturing
• converting
• coating
• printing
• label design and use
Papers should highlight why self-adhesive materials remain the most versatile product decoration choice and in particular we are looking to offer comparisons of self-adhesive labels to other labelling and product decoration techniques. Ever wary of the future challenges the papers should show from a technical standpoint new features that keep the self-adhesive industry moving forward and help to add value in the supply chain. The organising committee will consider papers from all points of the value chain but priority will be given to most interesting propositions regarding label end-use and converting innovations. Papers will be required to have an absolute minimum of commercial aspect and need to have a real scientific content that will appeal to the audience who are typically from a technical environment.
From the same standpoint we need to show how the self-adhesive label industry is meeting the challenges of today & tomorrow and in particular are looking for informative and thought provoking presentations with emphasis on the following key issues related to self-adhesive label products:
• Environment • Sustainability
• Carbon Footprint monitoring • Energy Saving
If you want to take up the challenge to show how our industry is evolving or can evolve to meet tomorrow’s challenges, then please send your proposal to info@FINAT.com marking your email ‘FINAT Technical Seminar 2012’ and containing the title of the paper and a short abstract (400-500 words) detailing the content and technical nature of the presentation. The organising committee will review all proposals before deciding on a final programme in order to give a comprehensive and balanced content. Furthermore, we will invite certain speakers to give us a more detailed abstract which could be published on our education website or in future issues of FINAT news.
